About Us
For many years I have been studying the
transmission of Nga Puhi knowledge divided into three inter-connected
parts:
Whakapapa was something done by my kuia day and night
and it is what I was brought up with. I come from several generations
of whakapapa people. For many years I have been doing this work on weekends
or part time. Now, I would like to work in whakapapa and research full
time.
When we recount the names of our ancestors and when we celebrate their
achievements they and their memory come alive. This is why I have been
writing books and recounting their names and korero on our marae and
at every opportunity. The Internet is an extension of this.
I am mereley continuing the work of Nga Puhi scholars like Kaka, a Hare
Hongi, Ngakuru Pene Haare, Hone Rameka, Tuhirangi, Te Ripi and many
others.
As most Nga Puhi live overseas or in the cities it is virtually impossible
for them to access their whakapapa. Our way is the quick way because
we will do your whakapapa research for you.
